Dux Instantaneous/Continuous Flow Hot Water Systems
Dux Condensing Continuous Flow Hot Water Heater
Check out the hot New Product from Dux
This new continuous hot water system from Dux is the smallest domestic condensing gas water heater on the market. The condensing gas water heaters are gas systems available in two highly efficient capacities of 21 litres and 26 litres. Regarding longevity, this product is made of high quality materials including a high grade copper primary heat exchanger and a corrosion resistant stainless steel secondary heat exchanger.
Features and benefits
Condensing technology:
This technology is able to use energy that would be otherwise wasted through the two inbuilt heat exchangers which takes the efficiency to over 90%. The continuous flow is even more environmentally friendly with its inbuilt condensate neutraliser. As the name suggests, before the condensate water leaves the heater it first flows through a chalk neutraliser which absorbs the acidity in the water before draining away.
Japanese ingenuity:
Noritz is Japan’s leading manufacturer of household water heaters.
Direct ignition of pilot light:
This means energy is not wasted with the pilot light constantly burning even when the hot water is not being used.
Accessories:
These are available to enhance the hot water heater. The accessories available are controllers that allow you to customize the temperature to what you would like. Additional accessories of pipe cover, recess boxes, anti-theft kit, and flue diverters are also available.
Models
Dux Condensing Continuous Flow Heaters are available in Natural Gas (NG) and LPG with 50°C or 60°C preset. The flow rate (l/min @ 25° rise) of the two models is 21L/min and 26L/min.
Dimensions
Width: 350mm
Height: 520mm
Depth: 170mm
Efficiency
Both condensing models are highly efficient with a 6.7 star rating
Warranty
Heat Exchanger
12 year warranty
Cylinder
3 year warranty

Dux Solar Hot Water Systems
Dux Sun Pro Range
In addition to being in the forefront for gas and electric hot water systems, Dux is a leader in the field for solar hot water with their Sunpro range. These hot water systems are available in both gas boosted and electric boosted. The Sunpro’s design not only provides hot water all year round-even when the sun is not out, but also great energy savings.
Electric Split Dux Sunpro Range
Dux’s solar split system range has some great advantages in comparison to other manufacturers in the market. The advantages for these hot water systems include –
- Minimal Impact on Roof
- Due to light weight of panels and no tanks on roofs there is no need for roof re strengthening
- Top Tank Sensor
- Unlike a lot of other manufacturers in the market Dux have a top tank sensor giving greater control when it comes to controlling the temperature inside the tank. This ensures tanks do not over heat which can damage your hot water heater. Why is it bad for your hot water heater to overheat? (link to section in “How hot is too hot?” in blog)
- Dux has access to patented Drainback technology
- What is so good about a drain back and how does it work?
- The Dux Drain Back System solar collectors detect a panel’s sensor reading of either to hot or too cold. Both over boiling of water and freezing of water can damage your system, especially freezing panels in winter. As the panel sensor detects one of these temperatures it simply opens a valve at ground level to drain the water out of the collectors (the collectors hold approximately 2 litres of water each). Therefore the panels troubleshoot this issue on their own. There is no water in the collectors and the panels are not subject to these elements for potential damage.
- High performance collectors
- The Dux Sun Pro range has some of the highest STC’s in the market. STC’s are a reflection on the efficiency. 1 STC is the equivalent of 1 megawatt of power saved over the lifetime of the tank. Find out more about STC’s here
- A backup element to ensure that even on cloudy days that you still have hot water
- Tempering valve supplied with hot water heater. Find out more about tempering valves
- What is so good about a drain back and how does it work?
The Electric Dux Sunpro Range comes in 250 litre and 315 litre capacities with 2 or 3 solar panel collector options for producing hot water.

With their high efficiency panel now coupled with a gas booster it is even more efficient to run your hot water on Dux’ gas boost hot water heater.
Dux Sunpro Gas Boosted Advantages
- In-tank boost
- The in-tank boost is a distinct feature that offers a big advantage. This sort of system, though not common in the solar hot water market place, addresses some of the problems other brands have when it comes to flow. Rather than having a continuous flow hot water system mounted on the outside of the unit, the in-tank boost circulates the water heating the water inside the cylinder. This stores the hot water ready for use and therefore solves the issue of low flow especially AA and AAA rated tap ware that will sometimes struggle to activate a continuous flow.
- Do not have the need for larger consumer gas piping as they are a low megajoule (MJ) gas consumption hot water heater
- No start up delay compared to continuous flow models
Instantaneous units have a time delay for when the hot water is heated. The Dux system does not have this issue. The water is piping hot the second it comes out of the tank.
- Dux has access to patented Drainback technology
- What is so good about a drain back and how does it work?
- The Dux Drain Back System solar collectors detect a panel’s sensor reading of either to hot or too cold.
